K9 Creed & K9 Armour
The AVPD Canine Unit was established in 2016 with its first police dog, K9 Creed. Creed’s handler, Andrea, made history as both the department’s first female officer and first K9 handler. A U.S. Army veteran, Andrea began her law enforcement career in 2004 and has been training and handling working and pet dogs since 2016. K9 Creed, a European-born German Shepherd, served from 2016 to 2024 and was certified in narcotics detection and patrol operations. Creed was trained to respond to commands in Dutch, German, and English. Andrea’s second working canine, K9 Armour, is a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix from Europe, trained and certified in explosive detection and patrol work.
Our nonprofit, the K9 Creed Armour Program, was founded in 2021 to raise funds for the protective gear and specialized equipment working dogs need to stay safe on the job. Every item purchased and every donation received goes directly toward equipping canine units with life-saving protection. Our canine apparel was created by our unit to support not only our dogs, but K9 teams everywhere. Thank you for supporting those who protect and serve—on four legs!

BOARDING
Our boarding rates are $40 per day for dogs. We also welcome small animals such as cats, bunnies, and ferrets at $25 per day. Small animals will be comfortably housed in a clean, secure cage that we will provide.

Our K9 facility offers spacious and comfortable accommodations with three outdoor kennels and one indoor, ranging in size from 8x8 to 10x4 feet. All kennels are kept cool and shaded for your dogs comfort. We also provide plenty of open space for your dog to run and play freely throughout their stay. We are located in the Cincinnati, OH area.

BOARD & TRAIN
Your dog stays and trains with a professional K9 handler. Our board & train program starts at $80 per day and is designed to give your dog focused training while staying with us. We recommend a 10-14 day stay, during which we work on specific goals tailored to your dog, including basic obedience, manners and/or any individual needs. Your dog will receive daily, hands on training in a structured and safe environment.
TRAINING
We offer personalized one-on-one training sessions tailored to you and your dog's needs. These sessions focus on building a strong bond, improving obedience, and addressing specific behavior goals.
Training starts at $50 per hour, final pricing based on location.

Andrea & Daisey 2011
Meet DAISEY- OUR LITTLE BLIND DOG
Daisey is our 15-year-old Maltipoo who has been part of our family since she was a tiny pup. A few years ago, around age 13, Daisey lost her eyesight, and we had to remove her eyes, but it never slowed her spirit. She has been by our side throughout K9 Creed’s entire career and is now adjusting beautifully to life alongside our newest working dog, K9 Armour. As a blind senior, Daisey receives extra care, attention, and specialized training to help her safely navigate the world. She continues to experience life to the fullest and reminds us every day that with patience, love, and the right guidance, special-needs dogs can live happy, confident lives.
